Prisonism is (1) the dehumanization of people in prison, and (2) the practice of aggressively sending people to prison. Although Pooh Shiesty did this to himself, he is still a product of what comes out of our prison system. Federal prison's mission is to keep society safe by releasing individuals who are ready for the free world, but as in Pooh Shiesty's case, prison did not give him the tools to think better, be better, and act better. Instead of filling his days with productive activity, federal prison gave Pooh Shiesty a lot of free time to scheme. Pooh is just one of the many subjects of prison's structural failures.
